California is a "direct access" state which means that you are allowed to obtain physical therapy services without needing a physician’s referral. However, there are some exceptions to this depending on your insurance plan.

Medicare patients are required to have a referral from their physician every 30 days during the treatment program. If desired, our physicians can evaluate the patient and write the required referral.

How long do treatments last and how frequent are the visits?

It all depends on the diagnosis and the physician’s referral (if required). Most patients are treated two to three times per week and decrease frequency as the problem becomes less acute.
